Mediapack was founded by Roger Burlinson in 2003 under the name Maximus Media. Back then it was involved predominantly in live production, delivering big screen visuals and production components to arena shows such as Autosport International, Max Power Live, The Bike Show and other independent events. In 2008, emphasis shifted to online TV and social and this has been our core focus ever since, although the advent of live streaming has meant that ‘live’ is once again front and centre for us.

We were in at the birth of social media and began publishing TV style content online in 2008, initially through Brightcove and then through Youtube and other social platforms. We’ve always been driven by sport and have filmed everything from Motor Racing to Freestyle Canoeing.

In 2010 we built British Canoeing’s video and social media operation from scratch, in readiness for the London Olympics. We created and populated a Youtube channel for them - British Canoeing TV - together with new Twitter and Facebook feeds. Beijing may have technically been the first Olympics where social featured but London was really the first fully social games, where online video and social media dominated. In the run up to the London Olympics in July 2012, Mediapack produced over 50 comprehensive video packages, from race format explainers to full athlete profiles and we then went on to handle all their social output on site during the games, reporting live on races and filming behind the scenes interviews and packages at both Lee Valley and Eton Dorney.

At the games, British Canoeing had the biggest and broadest collection of in-house video packages of any Olympic sport present and the packages collectively gained over 40,000 organic views during the two weeks of competition.

Since then, Mediapack has continued to grow and cement its position as an innovator and leading provider of engaging, high value, story driven content for sports bodies, local authorities and business.

At The Leading Edge
Mediapack has always been at the leading edge of content creation and we remain so today. Our approach is always to drill down into the brief and find the story - that unique element that ensures a film connects with the audience on a human level, even if the aim is simply to promote a product or service.

We pioneered the 'Toolkit' approach to production, where clients are able to pick and choose the precise elements they need rather than having to commission a complete production. We introduced 'Content Packs' to give affordable clips packages for sport and business, that can help social media posts stand out in the news feed and which can be re-used again and again, giving excellent value for the production investment.

We've led on the production of longer form TV style content for brands (as a vehicle to promote their products and services), that engages audiences and delivers deeper interactions - our 'Mediapack Originals' offering - and most recently, we've designed a 'subscription' production model, that reflects the need of organisations for an affordable way to create more content more frequently - an essential component in building loyal audiences.

So whether you need a video, a live stream or a podcast, we’ve got a solution that will work specifically for you.

Our work over the years has been highly varied. We've helped re-launch the London Olympic Velodrome and Hockey Centre with promos and information films. We've helped secure TWO World Championships for British Canoeing, with powerful bid videos. We've created stand out brand promos, spoof event info films, promoted wildlife conservation, showed how to play Ping Pong, encouraged cities to get active, taught business expertise and created exhibition screen visuals.

We've delivered newsreel for clients to BBC News, ITN, Sky News & Channel 4, supplied footage to BBC Countryfile, produced youth music strands and created hours and hours of social video. We've worked with TV stars, supermodels, politicians, business leaders and Olympic athletes but most importantly, we know how to get the best out of anyone, even the most nervous member of a corporate team.

We're as at home filming in a studio set as we are chasing lifestyle athletes across the UK. That's essentially because, at the end of the day, production is just a process, no matter the subject, the setting or the destination. Great video and telling stories is in our blood, it's why we exist and when all's said and done, that's all that matters!

“There’s story in everything, you just need to know where to look…”
